Of 28 tons built at Waipu in 1866, was wrecked at Bream Head enroute Auckland 

to Waipu with stores and 18 passengers on 30th March 1868. Two passengers 

drowned, and two had broken legs.

Of 26 tons built at Mahurangi in 1858, stranded in the Whangapa River at Great 

Barrier Island on 8th August 1872. No lives were lost in the accident.

Of 19 tons, built at North Shore Auckland in 1863, foundered off Whangaparaoa 

on June 25th 1866.



UNCLE SAM               1846

Of 25 tons and registered at Auckland was built at Waiheke Island in 1844. Lost 

in heavy weather off East Cape early in June 1846 at Long Point, Hawkes Bay. 

All crew were saved.

Of 22 tons built at Auckland in 1846 by Henry Niccol, parted her cable at Kennedy 

Bay near Cape Colville and with nobody on board was driven out to sea and went 

ashore Great Mercury Island on May 18th 1856.

Sailed from Newcastle NSW with cargo of coal for Manukau on June 29th 1860, 

wreckage found on beach four miles north of Manukau.  All hands lost.

of Kapiti Island on 5th June 1875. Four members of the crew were drowned.
