Schooner NZ Wrecks
Of 33 tons built at Huia Bay Manukau in November 1865, was lost at sea after
sailing from Charleston South Island in June 1867 bound for Manukau.

Paddle Steamer Wreck Book
Built in Australia in 1858 of 23 tons, sank on October 27th 1860 after
striking a sunken rock near Motutapu Island in the Hauraki Gulf, whilst on
an excursion trip.

Ship Wreck Book
Built about 1724 of 700-800 tons, sank in October 1795 after becoming
unseaworthy while on a voyage from Sydney to Dusky Bay and lies in Facile
Harbour.. This was the first recorded shipwreck in NZ.

A fully rigged ship of 375 tons whilst sailing from Waitangi in the Bay of
Islands was wrecked on rocks and became a total loss on May 7th 1840

Of 57 tons, built at Manning river NSW in 1852, lost at Oreti Point on
the East Coast on October 21st 1857 when en route from Auckland to East
Coast Bays.

Built at Oamaha by Darroch. Broken up on sandbank of Tamaki River post 1924.
FALCON 1895
Steam Launch Northern SS Co North
Built at Onehunga in 1895 of 10 tons employed on the Manukau Harbour. In
1896 became tender to a whaling station. In 1897 was tender at Coromandel.
Last surveyed in 1909.

Of 26 tons built at Mechanics Bay Auckland 1859 - Captain Toohig - sailed
from Lyttleton on January 7th 1861 for Wellington and was never seen again.
Crew and 3 or 4 passengers all lost.

Schooner NZ Wrecks
Of 17 tons built at Auckland on 1855, was wrecked on 17th April 1860 1 1/2
mile north of Katikati entrance.
FLORA MACDONALD 1874 J.L. KENNY
Cutter NZ Wrecks
Of 18 tons built at Waipu Auckland in 1861. Capsized in heavy weather on the
Manukau Bar on 2nd February 1874. All hands (8) being drowned. (including
six passengers two of whom were children)

Schooner NZ Wrecks
Of 55 tons built at Great Barrier Island in 1869, foundered in heavy weather
on March 16th 1876 off Bank Peninsula. One crew member drowned.

Of 35 tons, built at Tairua in 1861, foundered at sea between Cape
Kidnappers & Auckland in July 1863 with six persons on board. All were lost
including Captain Webster.

used as such till scuttled at Whangaparaoa 4th December 1944.

Launched on 5th Sep 1870 at Auckland. Served on the Thames route from 5th
Jan 1871 till 1874 when sold to Melbourne interests. Broken up about 1892.

On 29 February 1840 during a NE gales was totally wrecked at the Bay of
Islands, having arrived there from Sydney on 19/2/1940

Built at Auckland in 1911 of 148 tons. Sold and converted to motor ship in
1947. Wrecked on Awash rocks on 24 April 1954 without loss of life.

Barque NZ Wrecks
Of 265 tons under Captain Brown. Was wrecked in Waitakere Bay between Manukau
& Kaipara harbours on 16th September 1853 with loss of seven lives including
the master, en route Melbourne to Hokianga.
